The 3rd one was shit, the tv series was also shit. Those two kids, one from heroes and the other from firefly were alright in their old show but they're both motherloving bad in the series.
Doesn't matter if the Governator is gonna be in it or not, it'll be shit.

Well, if you've watched the very nice first (and short) season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, you clearly get the picture they're moving away from a "governor of California"-centered terminator world. I'm sure it's going to be very very interesting, maybe even something of the caliber of a Battlestar Galactica if they stop the politically-correct.

battlestar galactic was the worse series I had to watch (hubby downloaded it)...the camerman should have been shot! and the story, well, when are they going to do a remake of Hot L Baltimore or too close for comfort?????
The original series was ok when it came out--good idea, a remake was just for the effects and those werent too good even by todays standards....
if the next terminator movie is like that....I wont even watch it when it gets to cable!

I'd probably watch it, but it's gotta have a little Arnie cameo.

Guess what there are different models.
Arnie's terminator looked old and crap in T3 anyway can you imagine it now, hes past 60.
They could have a cameo with him as an old guy, maybe saying he was what they were based on but as a terminator he would look stupid.
I also hope they push the bar and go for an 18+ rating, the way they have gone down the age scale since the first is crap. Terminators are for maiming and destroying and ripping peoples hearts out through their stomachs.

Uh, Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines received R ratings by the MPAA, which means that no one under the age of 17, unless accompanied by parent or guardian, was allowed to see the movie in theatres. The fourth Terminator movie, I don't think, has been rated yet.
As for the movie itself, it's a stupid-ass idea. If I'm still working at Harkins when it comes out, though, I'll probably watch the movie.

Christian Bale is a really cool actor. he was good in The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Equilibrium, etc. he will make a badass John Connor, unlike that homo in T2 and that loser in T3.
btw, check out the newest trailer here --> Terminator 4 new trailer

Christian Bale is an amazing actor. Everyone revels about him like they know his acting because they saw The Dark Knight. Here's a tip: see his whole filmography - it's amazing. And actually read about the acting he does in the movie, too. He takes acting very seriously, does some pretty odd things for the sake of realism, and works very hard.
I'm a little sad to see Terminator without Arnold, though. I mean... would you make an Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford?! I'd hope not! That being said... I have all sorts of respect and sexy feelings for Christian Bale, so I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Well... you guys should do a bit more searching on this before you freak out too much. First off, Arnold did extensive voice work for the movie, and they are doing his face CGI on the actor that is actually playing the T-888. So, Arnold will be in it, just not the "real" Arnold; a laser scanned CGI face of Arnoldness with his voice will be appearing.
What you must remember, is that Arnold is just ONE terminator. The model 101 (T-800/850) were the first models to be designed for human infiltration. This is what Arnold was, and all model 101 terminators looked like Arnold; however, model 102 is different in appearance, and presumably, there are other models (model 103-xxx?). In the end though, the T-800/850s didn't have enough human like qualities, and were scrapped for the much improved T-888.
The T-888, or advanced infiltration unit, utilized an extensive human psychology database and could actively learn more human like behaviors and patterns to better fit in (the 850 featured a similar update to human psyche etc, but not quite as advanced) The T-888 also features a far improved skeleton, as well as adaptations to its biological systems.
The T-1000 were the terminators with similar programming to the T-800, but utilized a mimetic polyalloy to morph. The T-1001 is the same as the T-1000, but with the programming found on the T-888. The T-X is combination of the T-800 and T-1000, with extremely advanced systems and endoskeleton capable of mechanical and energy based weapon production. However, the T-X wasn't really designed to hunt humans (it is more than capable), it was designed to hunt rogue T-800/T-888s that were reprogrammed by the resistance; thus, it lacked that human psyche finesse that the T-850 and T-888 have.
And then there is the Terminator that Summer Glau plays, named Cameron, in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She is presumably a T-950, which is an Skynet Elite Ops division prototype, and her development leads to the creation of the T-X.
In T4, you will be seeing the T-600, which is the crude version of the T-800 (Arnold's model) It is made for infiltration as well as direct combat, but its skin is plastic and they are noticed far easier than a T-800. Overall, it looks like they are guiding the series in the right direction. TSCC is a great show, and expands on the Terminator universe nicely.

Read my post again. He is in the new movie, but only make a ~30sec cameo, but may be be modeled in CGI on the actor that plays the new T-800 prototype. Remember, this is before the T-800 Model 101 (aka Arnie) existed. This is the time of T-500 and T-600s, when the T-800 is being developed.

Very impressive knowledge of terminator storyline Rahja, it sounds like you're already working on building them . I think people are referring to Arnold the actor not being in the movie, as opposed to his character. But I think it's a good thing that they move away from him and let the terminator universe live on its own. TSCC is praised for its scenarios but I have to admit I lost interest around 2x04 .

I lost interest in the Sarah Conner Chronicles within thirty minutes of the show's premier. Honestly, I think the story is going into "history repeating itself" mode, so no thanks.
If it's showing on the Capri, then I'll watch it ('cause I get in free). But not if it's 3D.
